Troy is 9-1 against Fairborn since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Troy Trojans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Fairborn Skyhawks at 11:45 a.m. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Saturday, Troy lost to West Carrollton on the road by a decisive 47-33 margin. While losing is never fun, Troy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 565th, while West Carrollton is ranked 280th).
Despite the defeat, Troy had strong showings from Kiyah Baker, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds, and Jayda Dillow, who scored ten points along with two steals. Dillow continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Meanwhile, Fairborn came up short against West Carrollton on Monday and fell 40-29.
Troy dropped their record down to 6-15 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.4 points per game. As for Fairborn, their loss dropped their record down to 1-19.
Troy strolled past Fairborn in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 36-17. Does Troy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Fairborn turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
