The Doddridge County Bulldogs put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 61-49 win over Wirt County. That's another feather in the cap for Doddridge County, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Doddridge County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Akaia Williams led the charge by scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds. Williams set a new season high mark in points with 12. Another player making a difference was Aleigh Cheeseman, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Doddridge County's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Wirt County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
Doddridge County will be playing at home against Tyler at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Tyler focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 37 on Tuesday. As for Wirt County, they will head out on the road to face off against Wahama at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
