The Frankenmuth Eagles will be taking part in a tournament against the Howell Highlanders at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Frankenmuth has seven straight wins, Howell has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Tuesday, Frankenmuth needed a bit of extra time to put away Garber. They beat the Dukes by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 8-7.

Chloe Compau made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run.
In other batting news, Bri Barker was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run. Mady Goodwin also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Frankenmuth kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Garber only managed six hits.
Meanwhile, Howell didn't have quite enough to beat Utica Ford on Saturday and fell 4-3.
Lara Anderson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Easton Lavery was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
Frankenmuth pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Howell, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10-1.
Saturday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Frankenmuth has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .513. However, it's not like Howell struggles in that department as they've averaged .439. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
