They took down John Paul II 39-21. That's another feather in the cap for Hilton Head Prep, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Hilton Head Prep's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jason Britschge, who scored six points along with six steals and four blocks. Britschge has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Frey, who scored eight points along with five steals.
Hilton Head Prep pushed their record up to 16-5 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.6 points per game. As for John Paul II, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hilton Head Prep won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Cadets at 2:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Benedictine will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for John Paul II, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
