Given Chicago Hope Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while Southland College Prep is ranked 536th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Chicago Hope Academy to victory were Amoria Allen and London Davis. Allen scored six points along with ten rebounds and five blocks, while Davis scored 18 points. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Janessa Centeno, who scored nine points.
Chicago Hope Academy's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Southland College Prep, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chicago Hope Academy will take on Marian Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Southland College Prep, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Walther Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m.
