The Kongiganak Wolverines won the last time they faced the Kwigillingok Eagles, and things went their way on Saturday too. Kongiganak narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Kwigillingok 51-48.
Kongiganak found their leader in underclassman Gracelyn Miller, who scored 20 points. The matchup was Miller's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariah Tinker, who scored 11 points.
Kongiganak now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Kwigillingok, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kongiganak will challenge Chief Paul Memorial at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Kwigillingok and Lewis Angapak will face off at 1:30 p.m. on December 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
