Football Game Preview: Delran Bears vs. Penns Grove Red Devils

The Delran Bears will challenge the Penns Grove Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Penns Grove took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Delran, who comes in off a win.

Delran is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 45-0 victory over Hightstown. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Bears considering their ten-point performance the matchup before.

It was another big night for Vinny Sacca, who rushed for 155 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries, and also threw for 186 yards and a pair of TDs on only 16 passes. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in November of 2024. A healthy portion of Sacca's aerial production (84 yards to be exact) went to Justin Mary.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Delran was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 245 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Delran's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. In that department, Jack Jordan was the leader with two sacks. He is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made seven or more in each of the last seven games he's played dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Penns Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were beaten by Pennsville Memorial 43-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Red Devils have suffered against the Eagles since November 24, 2016.

Penns Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Delran, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Everything came up roses for Delran against Penns Grove in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 38-8 victory. In that game, the Bears amassed a halftime lead of 28-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
