The Whitney RVT Owls's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Amistad at home and fell 48-8. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Whitney RVT has scored all season.
Amistad was led to victory by Fatema Thomas and LaShaya Patterson. Thomas scored 16 points along with three steals and two blocks, while Patterson scored 12 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Patterson is crushing the block category: she's posted at least three every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Latoya Craig, who scored five points along with five steals.
Whitney RVT's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Amistad, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
Whitney RVT will head out on the road to take on the Condors at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Connecticut (O'Brien RVT is ranked 159th, while the Owls are ranked 158th). As for Amistad, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Lions at 7:00 p.m.
