TAPPS Division III District 6 recap Sept. 26, 2012
Bay Area Christian was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to second in TAPPS Division III District 6. The Broncos vanquished Giddings State 59-12 earlier in the week.
Bay Area Christian moved up to 925 from 982 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Chris Jones's team climbed the ranks as a result of a 59-12 win over the Indians.
Cypress Christian's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Thomas Glazier threw for 281 and two touchdowns and Frank Aufmuth had 115 yards receiving. On the ground Calvin Novotny chipped in 19 yards. Conner Orrick helped Cypress Christian's passing attack out by catching five balls for 74 yards.
The Warriors' Glazier and Aufmuth have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Glazier has thrown for 727 yards this season, while Aufmuth, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 31 catches for 371 yards. Legacy Christian Academy's Kyle Walker leads the league in rushing yards with 262.
The Broncos took down Giddings State 59-12 last week, the largest margin of any game.
