Riverside is 0-10 against Cabell Midland since April of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Knights at 6:00 p.m. Riverside will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Riverside will bounce into Thursday's matchup after beating George Washington, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Warriors put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 12-4 win on Tuesday. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by seven runs or more this season.
Shaylea Blackhurst spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on McKinley Clark, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Smith, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Riverside hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in nine consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Cabell Midland is ranked highly in their home state and on Tuesday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Greenup County. The Knights fell just short of the Musketeers by a score of 5-4. The Knights' defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.
Becca Conrad was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. Madison McCallister also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Riverside pushed their record up to 16-6 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Cabell Midland, their loss dropped their record down to 16-3.
Thursday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Riverside has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .469. However, it's not like Cabell Midland struggles in that department as they've averaged .535. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Riverside might still be hurting after the 13-0 defeat they got from Cabell Midland when the teams last played on April 1st. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
