Danbury hasn't had much luck against St. Paul recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Lakers will venture away from home to square off against the Flyers at 5:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Danbury gave up the first runs on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 12-9 win over St. Joseph Central Catholic. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Lakers' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Danny Carroll made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Logan Lucas, who scored two runs and stole a base. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Logan Shepherd also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Danbury kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Paul). Everything went their way against New London on Tuesday as they made off with a 25-10 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Adam Roth was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Gabe Snyder was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Danbury's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for St. Paul, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 3-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Danbury has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like St. Paul struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Danbury might still be hurting after the 25-6 loss they got from St. Paul when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Lakers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
