The Leflore Savages will head out on the road to face off against the Arkoma Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with nine consecutive losses dating back to last season for Leflore and five for Arkoma dating back to last season.
Last Monday, Leflore took a serious blow against Central, falling 72-25.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 59-21, which was the final score in Arkoma's tilt against Heavener on Friday. While losing is never fun, Arkoma can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 318th, while Heavener is ranked 36th).
Leflore bumped their record down to 0-7 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.3 points per game. As for Arkoma, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
Everything came up roses for Leflore against Arkoma when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 69-42 win. Will Leflore repeat their success, or does Arkoma have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
