Sparks is 0-7 against the Hawks since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Sparks Railroaders will head out on the road to challenge the Hug Hawks at 6:00 p.m. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Sparks and five for the Hawks.
On Wednesday, things could have been worse for Sparks, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 37-20 loss to the Wolverines.
Sparks' loss came about despite a quality game from Berenice Moreno Almaraz, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Hug was beaten by the Colts 49-21 on Wednesday. Hug has not had much luck with the Colts recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Sparks dropped their record down to 3-12 with that defeat, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.7 points per game. As for Hug, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-16.
Sparks couldn't quite finish off the Hawks in their previous matchup back in January and fell 31-29. Can Sparks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
