The Monroe Golden Tornadoes scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Columbus 83-28 at home. Monroe has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 20 points or more this season.
Monroe's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kie'Aundria Acree, who scored 37 points along with nine rebounds and seven assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Acree has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ciarra Lunsford, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds.
Monroe has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Columbus, they dropped their record down to 7-13 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Monroe will be playing at home against Thomasville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Columbus, they will head out on the road to face off against Carver at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
