The Notre Dame Prep Saints can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They came out on top against Cactus Shadows by a score of 32-21. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Notre Dame Prep also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2022.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Notre Dame Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cooper Perry, who picked up 192 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Perry's longest reception was for an incredible 76 yards. Noah Trigueros also helped out by tossing the rock for 301 yards.
When it comes to explaining why Cactus Shadows lost, one person who can't be blamed is Donivan Dixon. Despite the final result, he threw for 215 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72% of his passes, and also rushed for 83 yards. Another player making a difference was Noah Brouse, who picked up 66 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Notre Dame Prep's victory bumped their record up to 4-4. As for Cactus Shadows, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Notre Dame Prep will take on American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North at 7:15 p.m. on October 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North is ranked 31st, while Notre Dame Prep is ranked 25th). As for Cactus Shadows, they will head out on the road to face off against Horizon at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th.
