Carly Hernandez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madison Kroupa, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Ashley Vossenberg, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Gloucester County Tech was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Washington Township only posted a batting average of .296.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Westampton Tech). They were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over Holy Cross on Tuesday.
Westampton Tech's record now sits at 5-8. As for Gloucester County Tech, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.
Gloucester County Tech was able to grind out a solid win over Westampton Tech in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gloucester County Tech since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
