Mosinee has gone a perfect 10-0 against Northland Pines recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Indians will face off against the Eagles at 2:00 p.m. Mosinee is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
Mosinee had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 13-run drubbing they dealt Lakeland on Thursday. The Indians were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Thunderbirds. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by eight runs or more this season.
Ethan Oatman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Mosinee got a massive performance out of Carter Fandrey, who went 2-for-5 with three runs and two RBI. The Indians are undefeated when Fandrey posts two or more runs, but 5-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Treve Stoffel, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Mosinee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Northland Pines and Tomahawk had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Eagles won by a run and slipped past the Hatchets 2-1.
Northland Pines also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and he was also dialed-in: Jonathan Miller gave up a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up eight Ks. Miller has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
Mosinee has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Northland Pines, their victory bumped their record up to 10-7.
Northland Pines' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mosinee hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .341. It's a different story for Northland Pines, though, as they've only averaged .236. Will they be able to contain Mosinee's hitters?
Mosinee beat Northland Pines 5-2 in their previous meeting last Tuesday. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
