After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Plainview, the Sulphur Bulldogs were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 53-38 win over Marietta. That's another feather in the cap for Sulphur, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Despite the loss, Marietta saw an underclassman step up: Aedan Ellison scored 19 points. Brian Sanchez was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five rebounds.
Sulphur's victory bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Marietta, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sulphur is on the road again on Friday and plays Dickson at 8:00 p.m. on February 2nd. As for Marietta, they will challenge Madill at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Madill will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Marietta surely won't give up without a fight.
