Kit Carson is 8-0 against the Wolves since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. Having just played yesterday, the Kit Carson Wildcats will get right back to it and host the Idalia Wolves at 4:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Friday, Kit Carson beat the Wolverines 41-28. That's two games straight that Kit Carson has won by exactly 13 points.
Kit Carson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Payge Booker-rady led the charge by scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Booker-rady has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Nadaya Buttry was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Idalia put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They put the hurt on Bethune with a sharp 41-17 victory. The victory was familiar territory for Idalia who now have three in a row.
Jaylyn Kechter continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Krista Wieser, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Kit Carson pushed their record up to 10-3 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Idalia, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Kit Carson have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 29.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Idalia struggles in that department as they've been averaging 36.4 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Kit Carson didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Wolves in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 39-35 victory. Will Kit Carson repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
