Make it nine blowout wins for the Tohatchi Cougars this season. They took their matchup on the road on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 89-59 victory over Thoreau. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Tohatchi has posted since December 14, 2023.
Josh Dawes was his usual excellent self, scoring 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Talan Long, who scored 16 points.
Tohatchi has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Thoreau, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.
Tohatchi will head out on the road to take on Newcomb at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Mexico (Newcomb is ranked 74th, while Tohatchi is ranked 53rd). As for Thoreau, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Rehoboth Christian at 6:30 p.m. Rehoboth Christian is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
