It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Western Tech & Environmental Science Wolverines ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They walked away with a 58-50 victory over Carver A&T. The victory was just what Western Tech & Environmental Science needed coming off of a 55-35 defeat in their prior contest.
Carver A&T's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elisah Guity, who scored 18 points along with two steals. That was a full 36% of Carver A&T's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jada McAliley, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Western Tech & Environmental Science's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-6. As for Carver A&T, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.
Western Tech & Environmental Science's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th. Southern will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Carver A&T will take on the Golden Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Owings Mills has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 20.
