Softball Recap: Haverling Beats Geneseo for Their Ninth Straight Victory

Haverling came tearing into Monday's match with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Geneseo Blue Devils as they made off with a 6-0 victory. Considering the Rams have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Ryleigh Laverty was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Abigail Whaley was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

Haverling pushed their record up to 13-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.4 runs on average over those games. As for Geneseo, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-4.

Haverling wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 8-5 win against Hornell on the 20th. As for Geneseo, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 7-4 victory against Pavilion on the 20th.
