Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Wimberley Texans walked away with it. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Mustangs 63-14 on the road. Wimberley's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Cody Stoever was his usual excellent self, rushing for 176 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per carry, and also throwing for 152 yards and two touchdowns. Wimberley also got a significant boost from Owen Oneal, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 116 yards.
When it comes to explaining why Ingleside lost, one person who can't be blamed is Nathan Ambrose. Despite the final result, he rushed for 97 yards and a touchdown, and also caught a touchdown. Ambrose really tore up the turf during one magnificent 77-yard run.
Wimberley's victory bumped their record up to 13-0. As for Ingleside, their loss dropped their record down to 11-2.
Wimberley will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Sinton at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. Sinton is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Ingleside does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
