Tree of Life Christian waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against Genoa Christian Academy by a score of 9-6. While the Trojans didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-10), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Samuel Jackson made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

In other batting news, Tree of Life Christian let Meshach Bishara and Jacob Brown run wild. Bishara went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Brown went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most stolen bases Bishara has posted since back in April of 2024. Andrew Jackson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.

Tree of Life Christian pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Genoa Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tree of Life Christian will face off against Northside Christian at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.8 runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Genoa Christian Academy, they will take on Shekinah Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Genoa Christian Academy's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Flames have averaged an impressive 10.6 runs per game this season.
