Henderson is 9-1 against Bishop Shanahan since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Warriors will venture away from home to square off against the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Henderson's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Bishop Shanahan's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Friday, Henderson came out on top against Coatesville by a score of 5-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).
Anthony Barthol spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Henderson's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cole Ryan, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, Bishop Shanahan came into Friday's match having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Downingtown East 9-2 on Friday. The Eagles not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 14th (when they won 11-1).
Bishop Shanahan also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and he was also dialed-in: Cole Simmons gave up just two earned runs on eight hits. Simmons also tossed a walk, which is notable because the Eagles are 5-2 when he allows at most two walks, but 3-6 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Brett Barber was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Griff Ceribelli, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Bishop Shanahan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Henderson is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Bishop Shanahan, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
