Softball Recap: Methacton Triumphs

Methacton proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by nine) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Pennridge Rams 8-7. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Warriors also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2025.

Sadie Fitch made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Fitch was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kaitlin Pettine was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmine McKeown, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Methacton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pennridge only managed seven.

Methacton has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for Pennridge, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

Coming up, Methacton will face off against Pottstown at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Pennridge, they will take on Lower Moreland at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.8 runs per game on average), something the Rams will no doubt try to take advantage of.
