Williams is 6-0 against Cedar Ridge since November of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Williams Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Cedar Ridge Fighting Red Wolves at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Williams focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Wednesday.
Last Wednesday, Williams really took it to Graham for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-33 win on the road. Given Williams' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 284th, while Graham is ranked 621st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Williams got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sam Rhodes out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brian Williams, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Cedar Ridge's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight defeat. They fell just short of Western Alamance by a score of 54-51. Cedar Ridge has struggled against Western Alamance recently, as their match on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Williams is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. As for Cedar Ridge, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-20.
Williams didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Cedar Ridge when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 49-44 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Williams since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
