The Buffalo Bison will be playing at home against the Point Pleasant Big Blacks at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, Buffalo strolled past Cross Lanes Christian with points to spare, taking the game 51-32.
Meanwhile, Point Pleasant had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 44-30 win over Scott. The victory was all the more spectacular given Point Pleasant's disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 386th, while Scott is ranked 74th).
McKenna Young had a dynamite game for Point Pleasant, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Young has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Bella Tolliver, who scored seven points along with four steals.
Buffalo's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Point Pleasant, their win bumped their record up to 11-9.
Buffalo was able to grind out a solid win over Point Pleasant when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 33-24. Does Buffalo have another victory up their sleeve, or will Point Pleasant turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
