Norwich and the Chieftains are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2017, but not for long. The Norwich Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the South Barber Chieftains on Monday.
Last Friday, it was a hard-fought match, but Norwich had to settle for a 55-52 defeat against the Wildcats. Norwich has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Even though South Barber has not done well against the Trojans recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. South Barber came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 49-40. The victory made it back-to-back wins for South Barber.
Norwich has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season. As for South Barber, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4-1 record this season.
Norwich took their victory against the Chieftains when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a conclusive 46-21. The rematch might be a little tougher for Norwich since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
