The Christian Academy Warriors lost to the Borden Braves back in January of 2023, but the Christian Academy Warriors didn't allow the Borden Braves the same satisfaction on Saturday. Christian Academy secured a 55-51 W over Borden.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joshua Renfro, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds. Renfro hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Doss, who scored nine points.
Christian Academy's win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for Borden, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Christian Academy will challenge Evansville Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Borden, Borden and Springs Valley will face off at 12:30 p.m. on February 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Springs Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine games -- so hopefully Borden likes a good challenge.
