Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Windermere Prep

While Windermere Prep didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They never let the City of Life Christian Academy Warriors get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Lakers, who have now won three matches by 15 runs or more so far this season.

Carsha Campbell was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. She also brought in two RBI, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, Cierra Walker and Kylie Konstand did most of the damage at the plate: Walker scored two runs while going 1-for-2, while Konstand scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Rayane Martinelly was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1.

Windermere Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as City of Life Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .300.

The win (which was Windermere Prep's fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for City of Life Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Windermere Prep will head out to challenge Lake Highland Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for City of Life Christian Academy, they are taking a road trip to square off against All Saints' Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
