The Swink Lions struggled with assists on Saturday (the Fowler Grizzlies had 16 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Swink was dealt a 60-31 defeat at the hands of the Grizzlies. Swink has not had much luck with the Grizzlies recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Briana McElroy, who scored 12 points along with three steals. McElroy is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Hunter Wallace, who scored seven points along with five steals.
Fowler was led to victory by Jaslyn Bates and Andrea Maestas. Bates scored 13 points along with six assists, while Maestas scored 22 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Maestas has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Marsh, who scored four points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Swink's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Fowler, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-6.
