Football Recap: Cardinal Gibbons Skates Past Ambassador Christian School with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cardinal Gibbons). They breezed past the Ambassador Christian School Lions to the tune of 42-0 on Friday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Crusaders' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Lions are ranked 55th).

Cardinal Gibbons got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Noah Terry out in front who rushed for 119 yards and one TD on only 13 carries, and also caught one score. Aaron Anderson was another key back, rushing for 136 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries.

Cardinal Gibbons' record is now 5-1. As for Ambassador Christian School, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2-1.

Cardinal Gibbons wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 56-0 win against Holly Springs on the 10th. As for Ambassador Christian School, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Baylor at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. The Lions will need to watch out since the Red Raiders have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
