Taft is 0-6 against Harlan since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Taft Raiders will be playing at home against the Harlan Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Taft will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 251st, while Harlan is ranked 108th).
Last Friday, it was a hard-fought match, but Taft had to settle for a 3-2 loss against Jay.

Adrian Gonzales did their best for Taft and scored both of Taft's goals. The pair have combined for a total of 17 so far this season.
Meanwhile, Harlan came tearing into Tuesday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.8 goals) and they left with even more momentum. Their defense stepped up to hand Jay a 1-0 shutout. Harlan's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matches.
Taft's loss dropped their record down to 10-6-2. As for Harlan, their win bumped their record up to 8-3-2.
Taft might still be hurting after the 4-1 defeat they got from Harlan in their previous meeting back in March of 2023. Can Taft avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
