After flying high against the Torres Toros last Tuesday, the Sunnyside Wildcats came back down to earth. Sunnyside took a 73-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hoover. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Tuesday (65), Sunnyside still had to take the loss.
Sunnyside lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tanner Wilson, who scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Malachi Barnes, who scored 18 points.
Sunnyside's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-5. As for Hoover, their win bumped their record up to 11-9.
Sunnyside will look to defend their home court on Monday against Sanger West at 6:30 p.m. Sanger West is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Hoover, they will head out on the road to face off against McLane at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. McLane is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 64.4 points per game.
