Baseball Game Preview: Maurepas Wolves vs. False River Gators

Maurepas is a perfect 3-0 against False River since February of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Maurepas Wolves will head out on the road to face off against the False River Gators at 4:00 p.m. Neither Maurepas nor False River posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Maurepas' last matchup with Fisher could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Saturday. Maurepas wound up with the same score they had in their last game (12-2), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

Meanwhile, False River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They lost 10-0 to East Iberville. That's two games in a row now that the Gators have lost by exactly ten runs.

Maurepas' loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for False River, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-11-1.

Everything went Maurepas' way against False River when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Maurepas made off with a 17-3 win. Will Maurepas repeat their success, or does False River have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
