The Cunningham Wildcats stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past Fairfield 77-56. Given Cunningham's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while the Falcons are ranked 297th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Cunningham to victory were Luke Albers and Will Wegerer. Albers dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds, while Wegerer shot 5-for-8 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 35 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wegerer has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dagim Reed, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Cunningham has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. As for Fairfield, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cunningham will take on the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Norwich is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Fairfield, they will play host again and welcome the Bulldogs, where tip off is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
