The Pinnacle Pioneers entered their tilt with the Mountain Pointe Pride with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Pinnacle snuck past Mountain Pointe with a 61-57 win on Saturday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Pinnacle's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Christian Wells, who scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kareem Alkhafifa, who scored 18 points.
Pinnacle's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Mountain Pointe, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Pinnacle will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Gilbert at 7:00 p.m. on November 28th. Gilbert knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Pinnacle likes a good challenge. Mountain Pointe will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Desert Vista at 7:00 p.m. on December 5th.
