The Moorpark Musketeers will challenge the Buena Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Moorpark is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 28 points per game this season.
Moorpark gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They claimed a resounding 42-6 win over Royal. The Musketeers haven't had any issues with the Highlanders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

| 10/03/25 @ Oak Park | 119.7 |
| 09/12/25 vs Santa Barbara | 85.6 |
A big part of Moorpark's win came down to the chemistry between Logan Moon and his top target Blake Davidson. Moon threw for 138 yards and three TDs while completing 73.3% of his passes while Davidson picked up 53 receiving yards and a pair of scores. The dominant performance also gave Moon a new career-high in passer rating (141.1).
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Buena, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 28-26 victory over Oxnard on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since September 13, 2024.
Buena had a senior duo take command as Blake Eberhard rushed for 144 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight carries and Jaxon Roberts rushed for 133 yards and two TDs. Roberts has become a key player for the Bulldogs: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-4 otherwise.
Buena was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 316 rushing yards. They are a perfect 4-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
Moorpark's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Buena, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
Thursday's contest might be decided on the ground. Moorpark has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 160.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Buena struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 191.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Thursday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Moorpark took their victory against Buena in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 63-40 score. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Bulldogs' Tyler Hoff, who picked up 121 receiving yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 70 yards and one touchdown. Now that he won't be playing on Thursday, will it be easier for the Musketeers to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
