The Paraclete Spirits''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Loyola on the road and fell 36-7. Despite 174 more yards than Loyola, Paraclete couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Tyler Soles threw for 215 yards and a touchdown. Adrian Jones was his top target, picking up 121 receiving yards. On the ground, Takai Brown rushed for 45 yards.
Leading Loyola to victory were Khalil Cueva and Thomas Knyal. Cueva gained 77 total yards and two touchdowns, while Knyal threw for 208 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Duke Giarraputo did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 89 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Loyola's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB 4.5 times. Leading the way was Isaiah Sanders and his 2.5 sacks.
Paraclete's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Loyola, the win was the third in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 4-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Paraclete is on the road again on Friday and play against Crespi at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Crespi is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Loyola, they will head out on the road to face off against Cathedral at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cathedral will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
