The Albemarle Bulldogs entered their tilt with the South Davidson Wildcats with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Albemarle blew past South Davidson 49-0 at home. Considering Albemarle has won four games by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Albemarle's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaine Mclendon, who rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Another player making a difference was Malik Watkins, who rushed for 49 yards and two touchdowns.
Albemarle's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.8 points per game. As for South Davidson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
Albemarle will be playing at home against Thomasville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Thomasville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Albemarle likes a good challenge. South Davidson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
