Northside barely beat Mather the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Rangers with a sharp 14-2 victory on Monday. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by six runs or more this season.
John Piper made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Northside is undefeated when Piper posts two or more runs, but 4-5 otherwise.
In other batting news, Rowan Yen was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
