The Calvary Christian Cougars will head out on the road to  challenge  the Villa Madonna Vikings  at 5:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Calvary Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2  runs per game  this season.
Calvary Christian had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Bellevue on Tuesday. The Cougars blew past the Tigers 13-5. While the Cougars didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
 Cal Ruwe and  Adam Curtis were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing,  Ruwe   didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only  one  hit while striking out nine over 4.2 innings pitched. Meanwhile,  Curtis   struck out seven batters over  2.1 innings while giving up just one earned  (and four unearned) runs off   two  hits. Ruwe has been consistent  recently: he hasn't  tossed less than seven  strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. At bat,  Ruwe  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-4, while  Curtis  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-3. Curtis also  hit a  double, marking his first of the season.

 In other batting news,  Josh Ruwe was  incredible,  going 4-for-5 with three  stolen bases, five  RBI,  and three  runs. Those  three  stolen bases gave  him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Finn Zachary, who  went 1-for-3 with two  runs, one  triple,  and one  stolen base.
 Calvary Christian  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 13  hits. That's the most  hits they've managed all season.
 Meanwhile,  there's no place like home for Villa Madonna, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  on Saturday. They came out on top against Ludlow by a score of  6-3  on Tuesday. The  win was some much needed relief for the Vikings as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
 The  victory was  the third in a row for Calvary Christian, bringing their record up to 9-2. The  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Villa Madonna,  the  victory  got them back to even at 7-7-1.
