Baseball Recap: Bartlett Gets the Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Bartlett ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Tantasqua Regional Warriors 10-9. For the Indians, this counts as revenge for the 16-2 win the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Brayden Greene looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mason Sebastyanski and Adam Phillips did most of the damage at the plate: Sebastyanski got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, while Phillips went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one triple. Sebastyanski is becoming a predictor of Bartlett's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't). Luigi Villegas was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Bartlett kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory made it two in a row for Bartlett and bumps their season record up to 6-4. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Tantasqua Regional, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Bartlett is set to take on their familiar foe Auburn at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Tantasqua Regional will challenge rival Northbridge at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Warriors 3.8, the Rams 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
