With a playoff game on the line, the Venice Indians rose to the challenge on Friday. They put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 49-23 victory. The victory was nothing new for Venice as they're now sitting on 11 straight.
Jadyn Glasser went supernova for Venice, throwing for 350 yards and four touchdowns while completing 85% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Cj Lewis, who picked up 122 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
When it comes to explaining why Riverview Sarasota lost, one person who can't be blamed is Dj Johnson. Despite the final result, he rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.0 yards per carry. Johnson hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for four straight games.
Venice has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 11-2 record. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34.1 points. As for Riverview Sarasota, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.
Venice will stay at home for another week and welcome DeLand at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. DeLand is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Riverview Sarasota does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
