The Overton Bobcats have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a hard 54-40 fall against Antioch on Tuesday. If Overton hoped to take revenge for the 73-52 loss against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Despite the loss, Overton still got an impressive performance from Kyree Christian, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of William Carter, who scored ten points.
Jaiden Claybrook continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Antioch, scoring 22 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Claybrook hasn't dropped below 15 points for eight straight games. Christopher Morris was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two steals.
Overton's defeat dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Antioch, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Overton the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome McGavock at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. McGavock will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 326th, while Overton is ranked 112th). As for Antioch, they will be playing at home against Hunters Lane at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hunters Lane has now lost 13 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 21.
