Baseball Recap: Macomb Gets the Win

Macomb not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 13, 2024. They put the hurt on the Peoria Christian Chargers with a sharp 11-1 victory.

Langdon Lambert made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). Lambert was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emmett Beck, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Ogle, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Macomb kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Peoria Christian only managed two hits.

Macomb's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Peoria Christian, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Macomb will take on Canton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Peoria Christian, they will face off against Cuba/Spoon River Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
