The Sherburne-Earlville Marauders entered their tilt with the Adirondack Wildcats with two consecutive wins dating back to last season but they'll enter their next game with three. Sherburne-Earlville walked away with a 49-37 win over Adirondack on Tuesday. For Sherburne-Earlville, this counts as revenge for the 75-47 defeat Adirondack walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2020.
Adirondack's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Skyler Green, who scored 13 points along with four steals. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Juliana McGrady, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Sherburne-Earlville's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Adirondack, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
Sherburne-Earlville will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Mt. Markham at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Adirondack will be home for the holidays to greet Clinton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
