Arbor View and Palo Verde are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Aggies will be playing at home against the Panthers at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
Arbor View is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Liberty, who was ranked fourth at the time (Arbor View was ranked fifth). The Aggies skirted past the Patriots 6-4.
Jase DeSantis was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Christman, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Palo Verde made easy work of Bishop Alemany on Thursday and carried off a 13-1 victory. Considering the Panthers have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Palo Verde also got a great performance from Hayden Lucibello as he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Those eight strikeouts gave Lucibello a new career-high.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ethan Clauss, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Tanner Johns was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Palo Verde was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .545. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.
Arbor View's win bumped their record up to 15-8. As for Palo Verde, their victory bumped their record up to 21-7.
Arbor View might still be hurting after the 9-2 loss they got from Palo Verde in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Aggies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
