After flying high against the Wapanucka Indians two weeks ago, the Clayton Bulldogs came back down to earth. Clayton fell to Panama 57-52. Clayton was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Panama apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2020.
Clayton's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shelton Lewis, who scored 16 points. The game was Lewis' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Clemons, who scored 15 points.
Clayton has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season. As for Panama, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Clayton will be playing in front of their home fans against Boswell at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oklahoma (Boswell is ranked 27th, while Clayton is ranked 49th). As for Panama, they will head out on the road to face off against Cameron at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Cameron and Panama are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
